If F40 was for 40th year of Ferrari, F50 on the other hand is for its 50th anniversary although celebrated a little bit early. And if F40 was the closest thing to a racing car in the ‘80s, F50 is in the ‘90s. Revealed at the 1995 Geneva Salon, F50’s total productions – only 349 units – was also revealed. This uneven number of units being one less than the exact amount they could actually produce is a strategy that the Ferrari President Luca de Montezemolo thought would be a good strategy as to fight the effects of recession at the opening of the decade.
And today, to serve the car enthusiast’s wants amidst global recession, Ferrari F50 for Sale is all over the dealer’s shop waiting for you. Ferrari had always been providing luxury and technological innovations offering its clientele uncompromising and the purest approach to skyscraping performance. This lead to several changes had been seen to the supercars built by Ferrari in the ‘90s. To really become a street legal racing car pedigree, several features learnt from the Formula 1 cars were incorporated for the F50 but with minor modifications to meet the road car creation standards.
Instead of a V8 engine which was used in the F40, the F50 on the other hand was given a rear wheel drive V12 engine angled at 65 degrees descending from the F1 car used on the 1989 F1-89. This 4.7 L engine has five valves per cylinder still with twin overhead camshafts per bank, a Bosch Motronic M2.7 conjoined ignition/fuel injection system and dry sump lubrication. F1 style construction technology and aerodynamics was also adapted to the construction of this supercar.
The engine can convey a maximum power of 382 kW at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 471 Nm at 6500 rpm. It allows you to run from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h.
Weighing 1230 kg (dry), F50 is a heavier than the F40. It chassis is greatly improved too. Its frame is made of carbon-fibre monocoque. Both of its front and rear suspensions use independent push-rod, unequal-length wishbones, coil springs, and gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers. It has a 6-speed plus reverse transmission installed at the rear together with the differential assembly at the back of the engine.
This extreme machine has a curvier look and has a plenty of intakes and exhaust slots. It is even a whole lot more revolutionary with its more profound rear wing than the F4. It may look a total beauty but Pininfarina didn’t design it that way just to make it look good. It totally served its purpose of increasing aerodynamics for a whole lot better performance.
It did have a removable hardtop but there was nowhere that it can be tidied away in the car, so instead the supercar is provided with a small canvass canopy if the weather turned out to be intemperate. This caused the car to have a greater deal of beautiful yet functional curves.
This two seater berlinetta and spider is truly another remarkable creation of Ferrari that you ought to have. Ferrari F50 for sale would be a great deal. You can even have a Ferrari F50 for sale in five different colors – two shades of red, yellow, black and silver. This would really be a great and generous offer for a car with exemplary performance and beauty.
Ferrari truly knows how to tickle their clients. Driving this F50 would truly be a downright driving experience on the road. It would let you soar and rev up with the howling of this another exemplary prancing horse.
