Having been officially released last year at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show and now having its premiere at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show, the 458 Italia is a true product of new generation technological advancements together with the world renowned artistic and sense of passion of Italy. This car which has a mix of a typical Ferrari had been the talk of so many people and had gotten the attention of so many car enthusiasts and it had acquired several international awards over these few months. It became Top Gear’s Car of the Year and also Supercar of the Year, UK’s GQ’s Best Supercar of the Year and Italy’s Quattroroute’s Favourite Sports Car.
458 Italia is a 2-seater berlinetta with a rear-wheel drive mid-mounted 5 L V8 engine. Its 90 degree 8-cylinder engine can deliver a maximum power of 570 CV at 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 540 Nm at 6000 rpm. It has a dual clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox. It is equipped with the E-Diff, F1-Trac and a high performance ABS. Plus a dry weight of thirteen hundred eighty kilograms producing a weight/power ratio of 2.42 kg/CV, this car will let you sprint from no to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. It can even let you reach a maximum speed of about 325 km per hour.

Designed by Pininfarina, every corner of this car is styled to develop its aerodynamics and to bring about an uncompromising design. The car’s exterior design may look very breathtaking, yet it helps to get the most out of this automobile. On the front end, we can see very narrow inlet with winglets deforms at high speed to help reduce drag and at either normal or high speed channels up air into the radiator. The rear doesn’t have an inlet instead air is allowed to get inside a pair of ducts on the side near leading all the way to feed the engine together with another pair of ducts under the floor to let air cool the engine back. Two more ducts are found on the rear end together wit the triple exhaust.
It has the Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres which are proven to give the best performance and safety for the driver. The car then gives you a tremendous driving experience both on the track and on the road.
Its interior is is meticulously done by Ferrari’s crème de la crème and Chief Designer Donato Coco. It reveals great comfort and extravagant look.
Obviously, with such great style and performance this car bears a 6 figure tag. We may not be able to see a “for sale” tag on this one for yet a little longer, but it will surely come.
But hey! Would you wait for that time? Having a great reputation, this car deserves a salutation and your savings too. Don’t waste your money on the less worthy item you’d want. Go for the 458 Italia and you would surely love this extraordinary and beautiful prancing horse.
