Ferrari always wants something new because clients’ wants and needs tend to change every now and then. And to keep up with this, they always make it sure that the clients will get enough choices to look at. Several of them might want Coupés but the others would prefer Spiders. So either way their client would want it, they made versions of these on one car.

We can see this on the 575M model. They had it as a Coupé on the Maranello which came out first and as a Spider on the Superamerica which is the later version and also a limited edition.

Being a convertible, Superamerica has a little disadvantage on the Maranello though. For example, it has 5 less than the top speed of the Maranello. But still, it is just as great as the Maranello although on different aspects and on different point of view of whoever would differentiate both supercars.

Being a derivative of the Maranello, it can either be praised or criticized depending on where they would look it at.

But both have more or less the same features. They both have front mid-mounted V12 engine, four valves per cylinder with twin overhead camshafts per bank, dry sump lubrication system, and single plate clutch. They are both made of tubular steel. Front and rear suspensions are also the same – independent, unequal-length wishbones, coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers with adaptive damping and anti-roll bar. Both can have either manual or electro-hydraulic F1 6-speed plus reverse gearbox and a rack and pinion steering. Both fuel tanks have the capacity of 105 L.

What superamerica differs from the Maranello is its Bosch Motronic ME7 electronic static ignition/fuel injection system, its 1790 kg kerb weight which is actually a little heavier, its top speed which only limits you 5 less than the Maranello making it only 320 km/h. And its engine now produces a maximum power of 540 hp at 7250 rpm.

Also, the most visible difference would be the design. Superamerica got a whole new different concept on its external and even the internal part.

elegant Revocromico roof showing off

Superamerica now is a two-seater spider and it got a more muscular yet sensual curves and linings. Its Fioravanti-patented rotating roof had been christened as the Revocromico roof to stress out the combination of its rearward rotation movement and electrocromic technology. They uniquely installed this new and one of a kind roof in a way that it would camouflage effortlessly with the car’s lines with the use of the two buttresses of which both them also supply roll-over protection. The buttresses though were taken from the concepts of the classic Ferraris.

Innvation doesn’t stop there because the integrated roof and boot design were greatly honed so that the opened roof rests flush with the boot lid without affecting the car’s boot capacity whether the top is up or down. Moreover, its rear section is also very spacious so that the boot can be opened in spite of the roof’s position.

Just as the external had been meticulously crafted, so as its internal structure. Its whole internal structure is actually enhanced through the light coming in from the large glass roof making the inside look brighter without affecting the driver’s onboard comfort. It is methodically equipped with handcrafted leather trim. Its roof switches have a carbon-fibre detailing. Its seats are specially trimmed in special perforated leather.

All in all, this car is absolutely stunning. 575M Superamerica won’t surely make you regret. Even if it is on for sale cheap and used, it still is a great car and the fact that it is made by Ferrari can’t be taken away from it. A for sale and used mark on it won’t make any difference at all except for it being previously owned.

Nonetheless, it is ought to be bought and not just to be displayed on the dealer’s warehouse window. Grab a for-sale Superamerica now and let it drive its sexy body around the town.
