This unit’s engine is derived from the 599XX’s engine although essential adjustments were made to meet the Euro 5 and Lev 2 standards for the unit to be manufactured as a road car. This supercar is built with a 5999 cc 65° V12 engine punching out 670 horsepower at 8250 rpm and a 457lb.ft maximum torque at 6500 rpm. It can bring you from no to 62 mph in just a record of 3.35 seconds and from no to 124 mph in 9.8 seconds. It can even reach a maximum speed of over 208 mph.
By minimizing the understeer from having a greater roll rigidity at the rear due to having wider front tyres than the rear ones they are able to guarantee quicker turn in and upgraded lateral grip. Downforce is also greatly increased. The 599 GTO produces 144 kg at 200 km/h, just enough so as not to have an impact on the drag. Downforce at the front is greatly increased with the front spoiler incorporating with a separate lower wing together with the help of the underbody incorporating the new lower front section with diffusers.
Drag is also greatly reduced by designing the nose to reduce the width of the wake created by the front, and the use of the wheel doughnuts – disc positioned outside the break disc – ensuring hot air exiting the wheel arch staying as close to the body of the car as possible.

The carbon ceramic brakes are lighter and more efficient on high performance levels thus reducing lap times. It can bring you to a halt from 100 mph in a braking distance of just 32.5 meters. Break cooling is also enhanced with the use of the wheel doughnuts.
The 599 GTO also uses the VRE (Virtual Race Engineer) allowing the driver to readily view the car’s performance. The manettino dial is also present thus allowing the driver to choose between five electronic control settings.
